Naturopath cancer support: how integrative care works alongside your oncology team
CANCER SUPPORT · 6 MIN READ
Integrative cancer support is care for the person going through treatment. Here is what a naturopath does, what they do not do, and how online consultations work for people in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and beyond.
In short
Integrative cancer support cares for the person going through treatment, alongside the oncology team.
It covers eating, energy, recovery, everything you take, and support for carers.
Consultations are online, for people in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, regional areas and overseas.
Naturopath cancer support, often called integrative oncology support, is care for the whole person going through cancer treatment. It is coordinated with your oncology team, and focuses on how you are eating, sleeping, recovering and coping.
Your oncologist treats the cancer. Integrative care looks after the person: how you are eating, sleeping and coping, how well you recover between treatments, and the questions you want help preparing for your team.
What integrative cancer support includes
a full review of everything you take, so your team has one clear list
eating through treatment: protein, taste changes, low appetite and food safety
energy, sleep and recovery between cycles
protecting muscle and strength during and after treatment
support for carers and family, who are often carrying a great deal
clear written notes to bring to your oncology team
How it fits with your oncology care
Everything you take is reviewed, so your team has one clear list.
Every suggestion is written down, so you can share it at your next appointment.
The focus is you: nourishment, energy, recovery and resilience through treatment. It is not an alternative cancer treatment.
How a consultation works
Consultations are online, so you can join from home on a hard day, or from a hospital bed. The first consultation maps your diagnosis, treatment plan, timeline, results and everything you currently take. From there, care is consult by consult, at whatever pace suits you and your treatment.
Every suggestion is written down so you can take it to your oncology team. I read routine blood tests through Endobiogeny, a way of seeing how the body's systems are adapting under strain, and that shapes what support is gentle enough for where you are.
Integrative cancer support in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
Because consultations are online, people in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, regional areas and overseas can all work with me in the same way. Many clients prefer it: no travel between treatment appointments, and a carer can join from another city.
Who it is for
people about to start treatment who want to prepare
people in active treatment who want support with eating, energy and recovery
people who have finished treatment and want to rebuild
carers and family members who want to know how to help
What happens next
Your first consultation maps your diagnosis, treatment plan, results and everything you take. From there, care is consult by consult, at your pace.
Every suggestion is written down for your oncology team, and nothing is added during treatment without their knowledge.
