About Tanya
The most advanced integrative support for your cancer journey
I'm Tanya Miles — a registered naturopath (ANTA 11109) specialising in integrative oncology, complex chronic illness, and terrain-based medicine.
My practice exists because I believe cancer patients deserve more than two options: conventional treatment alone, or well-meaning but imprecise natural therapies. You deserve both — integrated intelligently, informed by molecular science, and grounded in a deep understanding of how the body actually heals.
How I came to this work
I didn't start in oncology. My background spans complex chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, and the kind of cases that fall through the cracks of conventional medicine — patients who've seen multiple specialists, tried numerous treatments, and still don't have answers.
What I learned working with these patients changed how I understand disease: illness doesn't arise randomly. It emerges from a disturbed terrain — a body burdened by toxins, stuck in survival physiology, expressing genes it shouldn't be expressing. Address the terrain, and the body's capacity for healing returns.
Cancer is the ultimate expression of disturbed terrain. It's metabolic dysfunction. Epigenetic dysregulation. Immune tolerance failure. Toxic overload. Cells stuck in danger response, refusing to die when they should, reverting to primitive survival metabolism.
I trained in naturopathic oncology with Dr Katrina Ellis, author of Shattering the Cancer Myth and one of Australia's most experienced naturopathic physicians in cancer care. Her protocols taught me how to support patients safely through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy — reducing side effects, protecting healthy tissue, and rebuilding vitality after treatment.
I also trained with Dr Carol Haddad, integrative oncologist and founder of Integrative Cancer Care Australia (ICCA). Dr Haddad's approach gave me insight into how integrative strategies can work alongside conventional oncology from a medical perspective — understanding not just what to recommend, but how to collaborate effectively with oncologists and navigate the clinical realities of cancer treatment.
But I wanted to go deeper.
The framework that informs my practice
Endobiogenic Medicine
I'm trained in Endobiogeny — a French clinical model developed by Drs Christian Duraffourd and Jean-Claude Lapraz that interprets physiology through the lens of the neuroendocrine system. Using the Biology of Functions analysis, I can read standard blood tests to reveal how your hormonal and immune systems are adapting to illness. This shows the drivers behind symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves.
Cell Danger Response
Dr Robert Naviaux's research on the Cell Danger Response provides a framework for understanding why chronic illness persists — and why some patients don't recover despite doing "all the right things." When cells perceive sustained threat, they shift into defensive metabolism. Healing stalls. The body gets stuck. My protocols are designed to move patients through CDR stages systematically — creating safety first, then restoration, then rebuilding.
Terrain Medicine & The Deep Reset Framework
My clinical approach follows a phased protocol: STABILISE → RESTORE → REBUILD. This isn't arbitrary. It's based on the physiological reality that you cannot detox a sympathetic-dominant system, you must bind before you mobilise, and the body needs a reason to stay well — not just instructions to stop being sick.
Molecular Oncology
Through Exacta tumour profiling, I can access the most comprehensive molecular analysis available for solid tumours — over 20,800 genes analysed, chemosensitivity testing on living cancer cells, pharmacogenomic assessment for drug tolerance, and testing of complementary substances against your actual tumour. This is precision medicine at the deepest level.
My background
Before establishing Integrative Naturopathy, I worked as Head Naturopath at Gaia Retreat & Spa in Byron Bay, where I led integrative programs in detoxification, hormone balancing, and lifestyle medicine.
I trained extensively in naturopathic oncology with Dr Katrina Ellis, and with Dr Carol Haddad through Integrative Cancer Care Australia (ICCA). I continue advanced study in endobiogenic medicine, functional genomics, and terrain-based approaches to complex illness.
I also work in education and product training for Enki Apothecary, a premium botanical medicine company specialising in spagyric extraction methods — the alchemical art of preparing plant medicines that capture the full spectrum of a plant's therapeutic intelligence.
