Your Questions, Answered

What is integrative naturopathy?

Integrative naturopathy combines evidence-based natural medicine with modern functional testing and works collaboratively with conventional medical care. I don’t see my role as replacing your GP or specialist — I see it as adding another dimension to your care. I focus on understanding why illness has developed, addressing root causes, and supporting your body’s capacity to heal.

What conditions do you work with?

I specialise in complex, chronic cases that haven’t responded to standard approaches. This includes integrative oncology support, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, fertility issues, chronic fatigue, and cases involving multiple overlapping symptoms. I’m particularly experienced with patients who have been told “your tests are normal” but clearly aren’t well.

Do you work with GPs and specialists?

Absolutely. Collaboration is central to how I practise. I’m happy to communicate directly with your medical team, provide referral letters, and coordinate care. Many GPs appreciate having a qualified naturopath supporting their patients, particularly for complex cases that require a multi-disciplinary approach.

What makes your approach different from other naturopaths?

Most naturopaths focus on treating symptoms with supplements and dietary changes. My approach goes deeper. I use advanced functional testing to understand what’s actually driving your illness. I’m trained in Endobiogeny — a French medical model that interprets how your endocrine and nervous systems adapt under pressure. I follow a phased protocol (STABILISE → RESTORE → REBUILD) based on Cell Danger Response principles. And I understand that you cannot heal a system that’s stuck in survival mode — nervous system regulation comes first.

Integrative Oncology Support

Do you treat cancer?

No. I don’t treat or claim to cure cancer. Your oncology team does that. My role is to support your body through treatment, optimise your internal terrain, reduce side effects, support recovery, and address the metabolic and toxic factors that conventional oncology doesn’t assess. I work alongside your medical care, not instead of it.

Will you work with my oncologist?

Yes. I see my role as complementary to your medical care, not competing with it. I provide full transparency on any supplements or therapies I recommend, and I’m happy to communicate directly with your oncologist if they’re open to it. Many oncologists appreciate having a qualified naturopath supporting their patients through treatment.

Is naturopathic support safe during chemotherapy?

Yes, when done properly. This is exactly why training matters. I’ve studied extensively with Dr Katrina Ellis and Dr Carol Haddad (ICCA), learning which compounds support treatment and which may interfere. I review your specific treatment protocol before recommending anything, and I adjust your support around surgery, scans, and treatment cycles.

Do I need to stop my supplements during treatment?

It depends on the supplement and the treatment. Some supplements can interfere with chemotherapy or radiotherapy effectiveness, while others can protect healthy tissue and reduce side effects. I’ll review everything you’re taking and advise what to continue, pause, or modify based on your specific treatment protocol.

What if I’m already in remission — can you still help?

Yes. Post-treatment recovery and long-term terrain optimisation are a significant part of my work. Many patients feel abandoned after treatment ends — they’re told they’re “fine” but don’t feel like themselves. I help clear residual toxicity, rebuild mitochondrial function, restore hormonal balance, and address the terrain factors that allowed cancer to develop in the first place.

What is Exacta testing and do I need it?

Exacta is the most comprehensive tumour profiling available — analysing over 20,800 genes to identify what’s driving your specific cancer and which treatments (including natural therapies) it responds to. It’s particularly valuable for complex cases, failed treatments, metastatic disease, or rare cancers. Not everyone needs it, but for those who do, it can be transformative. We’ll discuss whether it’s appropriate for your situation.

I’m newly diagnosed and feeling overwhelmed. Where do I start?

Start with a consultation. Being newly diagnosed is one of the most overwhelming experiences anyone can face. I’ll help you understand your options, prepare your body for treatment, and create a clear plan. Many patients find that having a naturopathic support strategy alongside their medical treatment helps them feel more in control during an uncontrollable time.

Testing & Assessment

What kind of testing do you use?

I use a combination of functional pathology, specialty testing, and in-clinic assessments depending on your presentation. This may include DUTCH hormone testing, EndoMap genetic profiling, comprehensive gut microbiome analysis, Mineral Tissue Analysis (Oligoscan), live blood microscopy, and standard pathology with functional interpretation. I also use iridology and bioresonance assessment to understand constitutional patterns and identify issues that standard testing misses.

What is DUTCH testing?

DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) provides detailed insight into how your body produces, metabolises, and clears hormones — not just your hormone levels. It’s particularly valuable for understanding oestrogen metabolism pathways, cortisol patterns throughout the day, and androgen balance. EndoMap (available through Nutripath in Australia) offers similar profiling with genetic markers for oestrogen metabolism and detoxification.

What is Mineral Tissue Analysis?

Mineral Tissue Analysis (also called Oligoscan) uses spectrophotometry to measure intracellular mineral status and heavy metal burden in real-time. Unlike blood tests that show what’s circulating, this shows what’s actually in your tissues. It’s invaluable for understanding deficiencies, imbalances, and toxic burdens that may be contributing to fatigue, hormonal dysfunction, neurological symptoms, or immune issues.

What is Endobiogeny?

Endobiogeny is a French clinical method that uses specific blood markers to model how your endocrine and autonomic nervous systems are adapting to stress. Rather than just measuring hormone levels, it reveals the functional state of your hormonal terrain — how your body is using hormones and why symptoms are emerging. It’s particularly useful for understanding complex cases where multiple systems are involved.

How much does testing cost?

Testing costs vary depending on what’s clinically indicated. I’ll always discuss costs before ordering any tests, and I only recommend investigations that will genuinely inform your treatment. My goal is to gather the information needed to treat effectively — no more, no less.

Complex & Sensitive Cases

What if I’m a sensitive patient who reacts to everything?

You’re not difficult. You’re overloaded. I specialise in complex, sensitive patients. The reason you react to everything is usually that your drainage pathways are congested, your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, and previous practitioners have tried to detox you before your system was ready. My phased approach starts with stabilisation — we create safety in the body before we ask it to do anything else.

What does your phased approach involve?

I follow a three-phase protocol: STABILISE → RESTORE → REBUILD. In the first phase, we calm the nervous system, open drainage pathways, and create safety. You cannot detox — or heal — from a sympathetic-dominant state. In the second phase, we address what’s been depleted and clear what’s accumulated. In the third phase, we rebuild resilience and support long-term vitality. Your protocol evolves as you move through each stage.

I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. Can you help?

Often the issue isn’t that you haven’t tried the right things — it’s that you’ve tried them in the wrong order, or your body wasn’t ready to respond. Previous practitioners may have pushed detoxification before your drainage pathways were open, or targeted pathogens before your immune system could handle the die-off. My approach is sequenced carefully to work with your body’s capacity, not against it.

Do you work with MCAS and histamine intolerance?

Yes. Mast cell activation and histamine intolerance are areas I have particular expertise in. I understand these conditions through a Cell Danger Response lens — the mast cell isn’t an enemy to suppress, but a sentinel responding to terrain dysfunction. Treatment focuses on nervous system regulation, drainage support, gentle mast cell stabilisation, histamine metabolism pathways, and identifying underlying triggers.

Consultations & Booking

How do consultations work?

All consultations are conducted via secure video call (telehealth). You’ll receive a link before your appointment. Telehealth allows me to work with patients across Australia, and most people find it convenient and comfortable — you can be in your own home, which often makes difficult conversations easier.

What happens in the first consultation?

Your initial consultation is 90 minutes. We’ll review your full health history, current symptoms, any previous testing, and your treatment goals. I’ll assess your terrain, identify priorities, and create a phased protocol matched to where you are right now. Please have available: your diagnosis information, current medications and supplements, recent blood tests and any other relevant reports.

How much does it cost?

Initial consultations are 90 minutes. Follow-up consultations are 45-60 minutes. Testing is additional and varies depending on what’s clinically indicated. I’ll always discuss costs before ordering any tests. Please check the booking page for current consultation fees.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

My primary practice is telehealth, which allows me to work with patients Australia-wide. For patients on the Gold Coast, some in-clinic appointments may be available for specific assessments. Please enquire when booking.

How often will I need to see you?

This varies depending on your presentation and how you respond to treatment. Typically, I recommend a follow-up 3-4 weeks after your initial consultation to review test results and refine your protocol. After that, monthly reviews are common during active treatment phases, moving to less frequent appointments as you stabilise and rebuild.
